Our mission is to share God’s love with each other, our community, and the world.
In this time after our Easter Sunday worship, our Council and other leaders will evaluate the logistics and make a determination about whether to continue this kind of limited service on an on-going basis.
Many Thanks! to the myriad of people who helped with Holy Week and Easter Sunday services – from the spring cleaners to the worship assistants, from the music makers to the ushers and greeters, from the technology experts to the “tender of many things.” Each of you carried the light of the Risen Christ and brightened our praise and rejoicing. Thank you!
Needed: Bulletin Board Manager. The postings change from time to time and vary from informative to entertaining. Let Pastor know Let Pastor know if you would enjoy doing this.
Coming in May – another way to pray. Centering or contemplative prayer is an ancient prayer form that is seeing a resurgence in the Church today. We will have some times of teaching and practice in May. Please stay tuned.
Holy Week Kits! If you took home a holy week kit and don’t plan to keep it, but would like to recycle, you can bring the cloth back as a donation to the quilt projects.
Backpack Ministry – We continually need Ramen Noodles and creamy Peanut Butter (16-18 ounce jars). You can drop off your donations to the church office during the week from 9 a.m. to noon or on the second and fourth Sundays from 11 am to 12:30 p.m. We have 8 more deliver weeks left, so will need 60 more jars of 16-18 oz peanut butter to complete the year, and 174 individual packages of ramen noodles. We also give them extra items for the last day before school is out, so will need 30 jars of 40 oz peanut butter, and maybe some fun stuff, but items will need to be divisible by 30! Thank you so much for your support this academic year!
Thank you to those who brought Easter flowers last Sunday, if you haven’t already picked them up, you may do so Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and noon. Thank you for your kind contribution to the beauty and joy of Jesus' Resurrection.
Happy birthday to:

GRACE BOUGHT THE FARM ! ! ! CAN WE DO IT AGAIN?
A number of years ago the Social Ministry Committee thought a project for spring would be to buy chicks and bunnies for God's Global Barnyard. What about lambs? Grace bought five sheep that year. Another year Grace built a well to supply safe drinking water and a means to irrigate crops.
The Committee then set sights a little higher and aimed for a COMPLETE FARM. For two years Grace bought a farm for God’s Global Barnyard.
The goal again this year is another farm. The purpose of these farms is to provide immediate food plus future growth for a sustainable food supply for a community. It may be a farm with maybe a cow, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens etc. It could be just sheep for wool and meat or chickens for eggs and meat, cows or goats for milk and meat, OR a fish farm. What we do know is it will be stocked with whatever is appropriate for the region selected. There will also be guidance in the operation of this farm.
Those of us on the Social Ministry Committee hope you will be as excited about this project. To support God's Global Barnyard just mail or drop off a check to the church made out to Grace Lutheran and designate it “farm” or mark “farm” on your offering envelope.
