On Wednesday, June 24, two powerful earthquakes (7.2 and 7.5 magnitudes) struck back-to-back in Venezuela, leaving thousands injured, missing, or trapped beneath the rubble and more than 1,700 dead, with death tolls still climbing. This disaster comes amid a time of extreme political and financial crisis for the nation.
