Position Summary
Grace Lutheran Church in Lakeland, Florida is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide part-time (15 hours per week) office support, confidential program support, and administrative assistance for the pastor and congregation of Grace Lutheran Church. 

Parish Communications
·    Drafts, formats, and prepares worship bulletins, announcements, brochures and related documents
·    Prepares and generates correspondence and routine reports
·    Compiles and formats information for annual and other congregational reports
·    Maintains and publishes weekly and monthly calendars
·    Monitors and maintains social media accounts and webpage, updating information frequently
·    Responds to telephone, mail, email, and web inquiries.  Distributes inquiries and requests to others as appropriate
·    Coordinates worship volunteers and assistants
Office Operations
·    Serves as office receptionist
·    Orders supplies, flowers and other items needed for worship and daily operations
·    Coordinates with internal and external groups, external vendors and IT providers
·    Maintains petty cash fund and related documentation
·    Trains back-up volunteers/staff
Church Records
·    Updates and maintains parish register and membership database. Develops and generates ad hoc reports
·    Maintains church files
Education and Experience
    This position requires strong Microsoft Office and database experience, proficiency in bookkeeping and purchasing, a working knowledge of office equipment, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.  The ideal candidate will be a dedicated professional with nonprofit experience who can manage a variety of tasks, has attention to detail and can work closely with the pastor in a comfortable environment.
