Blessing of Animals

We recognize St Francis of Assisi as the Saint that looks after all animals. Therefore, we honor him to do a pet blessing in October, one Saturday from 9 am until noon, as a drive-by blessing, and receive a recognition certificate and a goody bag for your pet. We the Social Ministry Committee need to know if you are interested in taking part so we can plan the details.  If your answer is yes, please e-mail Dan Stoller at DVS53@juno.com with the word YES.  The date and time will be announced later.   

Francis of Assisi, renewer of the church, died 1226 Born into the family of a wealthy merchant, Francis gave up his inheritance to serve poor people. He formed the Order of Friars Minor (called Franciscans), who took on poverty and the task of preaching "using words if necessary." Francis had a spirit of gratitude for all of God's creation.
